Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve never had a massage, what do I wear?

For a typical swedish massage many clients choose to be nude or keep their underwear on as there will be oil/lotion applied to the skin to create a comfortable glide along the muscles, where as with Shiatsu the client is fully dressed and technique is applied over the clothes. Whichever therapy you choose there will be draping used, and only the area being worked on will be exposed. Your comfort is my main priority, and I can certainly accommodate the treatment to the level of undress you feel most at ease with!!

Are your treatments covered by insurance?

Yes! Most extended healthcare insurance plans cover Registered Massage Therapy. Once I have obtained payment after your massage, I will send you an electronic receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. I do not offer direct billing at this time, please check with your insurance provider for the full details of your coverage.

Is there parking and is your space accessible?

You are certainly welcome to park in my driveway while you are here for your treatment! Unfortunately, my studio is not accessible as it is in a basement and there are stairs to get down to my space.

When should I arrive for my appointment?

Please aim to be here approximately 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. This will ensure enough time for you to get settled, use the bathroom if necessary and for us to go over your treatment plan for the day. If you arrive earlier than 10 minutes, please do not ring the door bell as I may still be with another client.

What are your Covid-19 procedures?

Your health and comfort level, as well as mine, are my top priority and I have implemented many changes in order to ensure our safety;

  • Enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols with Health Canada approved products

  • The removal of any surface that cannot be disinfected and/or washed/sanitized

  • The removal of non-essential high-contact items (ie. water/tea area, magazines, etc)

  • Longer gaps between patients to ensure adequate time for disinfection and to prevent patient interaction

  • Contactless payment options and electronic receipts

  • Electronic screening of every patient before their appointment and again when they arrive for treatment

  • Daily self-screening to ensure I’m in top shape before coming into contact with clients.

Do you charge extra for deep pressure or cupping?

My fees are consistent among all of my different treatment modalities, except for Bamboo-Fusion massage. My treatments are tailored to meet YOUR needs, and I don’t charge extra to meet them. I only have an up-charge on my Bamboo-Fusion massage as it takes extra time and care to set up and heat my sticks for that luxurious treatment.

What type of massage oil/lotion do you use?

I mainly use Bio Origin Silky Massage Gel - leaves you feeling silky smooth and is paraben-free! I sometimes use Holly oil (yes, there is an oil named Holly too, lol) for Bamboo massage.
